Augusta, Maine – For the 25th edition of the NorthEast Motorsports Expo in Augusta, Maine, fans were able to vote for their favorite drivers and contributors to Motorsports in that 25 year span.  There have been many great personalities in the region over the years, and they would be recognized at the show.

Mike Rowe is one of the most successful drivers in the NorthEast, and his record shows it.  Along with many track championships, wins and his three TD Bank 250 trophies, he is now recognized as the top driver in the past 25 years.  Rowe, from Tuner, Maine, is without a doubt one of the sports most popular drivers, and has gathered a huge following since he started his career racing weekly at Oxford.

Second on the list is Bob Bahre, previous owner of both Oxford Plains Speedway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  Bahre was an integral part of bringing Nascar to the NorthEast with his years of ownership at Oxford Plains and then when he built the Magic Mile.  He ran the Speedway until 2007 before selling it to Bruton Smith.

Third on the list was former Nascar Sprint Cup Series star and current ESPN host, Ricky Craven.  Craven of course, cut his teeth on the short tracks in the NorthEast before landing a ride with Rick Hendrick in Nascar’s top division.  Craven was also the winner of one of the most thrilling finishes (this goes great with this week’s question of the week) at Darlington in 2003, edging out Kurt Busch in the closest finish in Nascar history.  Craven was also honored with the 2013 Award Of Excellence at the show.

Below is a list of the top 25 drivers of the past 25 years.  Feel free to share your stories of each driver, congratulate and thank them for what they have done for our great sport.
