We’ve read through the comments from last weeks poll on our Question of the Week, and we have the results here for your viewing pleasure.  Here’s what our readers said the top ten best looking cars are.

Welcome back to Answers of the Week, a Gas Junky feature where we take the best ten responses from the previous  Question of the Week and show them off. It’s by you and for you, the Gas Junky readers.

10. Nascar 2013, they finally came close

I may have said good looking, innovative race cars are allowed in race cars, but this year it looks like the most popular spectator sport in the country has finally gotten it right with the new Gen6 race car. Nominated by Evan Beaulieu

9. IMSA GTP

We’ve started off with a theme, race cars that resemble good looking road cars.  In IMSA, they had that nailed down with some beautiful and exotic machines. Nominated by Mike Twist

8. Tyrrell P34

The Tyrrell P34 is a demonstration of what was right in Formula 1 1970s.  Innovation, and radical race cars. This is the six wheeler car, and it didn’t work very well, but it did turn some heads. Nominated by Eric Williams

7. Ariel Atom

While yes technically the Ariel Atom is a street car, it is also one of the perfect track day machines.  The car goes from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds with 300 horses.  Click the link here to see the Top Gear guys trying it out. Nominated by Carl Belanger

6. Late 90s Nascar Race Cars

Some of the best looking paint schemes in motorsports were in Nascar in the late nighties.  We had everything, a car with a rainbow and every color imaginable on it, to an all black car with a three stamped on the door. This is one of the best, Mark Martin’s iconic Valvoline colors. Nominated by Jason Remillard

5. 80s Funny Cars

The Funny Cars of the 1980s were just badass, there’s no better word for it.  With the huge tires in the rear and making ungodly amounts of power.  Here is Raymond Beadle’s car from the early 80s that won threes straight NHRA championships. Nominated by Joe Pagliarulo

4. The DeltaWing

Nissan-DeltaWing-Prototype-Sportscar-1

Sue me now, yes I did put this car on the list.  Yes it looks weird, yes it looks ridiculous, yes it probably won’t end up being raceable, but just look at this car for a few seconds.  It’s what racing is all about, tinkering with designs until you find one that works better than the rest. Nominated by Evan Beaulieu

3. Nascar Modified

By the grace of god and 600 horsepower, that’s all that needs to be said. Nominated by Pete Cannell

2. Super Late Models

These aren’t one of the most popular cars in New England for no reason, they are also one of the best looking.  Maine racer Corey Williams knows a thing or two about mounting a race car body, and it shows with the looks. Nominated by Eddie Pettengill

1. Every Super Modified Ever Made

This one was too easy, the best looking and most badass cars will always be the Super Modifieds. Whether they are older or new, they all look great and show a great amount of work by their fabricators. Nominated by TJ Laro

Problems with my list, tell me and discuss! Check back on Monday for the next weeks question of the week!
