This could be discussed for years on end. What is your favorite finish, which one was actually the best? Well we got the top ten that the Gas Junkies decided on.
Welcome back to Answers of the Week, a Gas Junky feature where we take the best responses from the previous Question of the Week and show them off. It’s by you and for you, the Gas Junky readers.
10. 2009 PASS 300
Really wish I had a photo for this one. Mike Rowe held off a hard charge from DJ Shaw in the final laps in PASS’s premier event in 2009. The margin of victory was just a few inches. Definitely one of the best finishes I’ve seen.
9. Robby Gordon Wins Nothing at Montreal
This one we got video for, Robby Gordon spins out Marcos Ambrose in the final laps in a Nascar Nationwide Series race at Montreal. Nascar decides it will black flag Gordon, and being Robby Gordon, he chooses to ignore it. They even have a banner in their shop that says he won it.

8. Indy 500 of the last two years.
The past two Indy 500s have been incredible finishes. Dario Franchitti’s win this season, and Dan Wheldon’s memorable win when JR Hildebrand wrecked off turn four coming to the checkered flag. Great finishes each year in Indianapolis.
7. Every Time The Modifieds Race at NHMS
Every race at NHMS is an amazing race. The July race this past season was close between Mike Stefanik and Ron Silk.

6. Week Two of Thursday Thunder, Legends Cars 2012
A reader was going to mention this race, but he didn’t so I will for him. From a driving standpoint, this was (almost) all you could ask for from a race. Late race yellow and two drivers who are very competitive going door to door for the win. Unfortunately, the two drivers made contact on the final lap, causing a wreck on the backstretch. However, that’s what racing is all about, two drivers who don’t want to lose. The fans loved it too, I’ve heard more about that race than any in my career.

5. Donny Lia wins in Ohio
Donny Lia is one of the best in the Modified ranks, and moved up to the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series in 2008. He did get a win, in one of the most thrilling finishes.
4. Fred’s Payback at Beech Ridge?
This is why spectator drags are such a great idea for your new vehicle.
3. Dirt Race, 1989
When you need one more finish, just ask YouTube. They came up with this gem from 1989.
2. Richie Evans/Geoff Bodine at Martinsville.
I’ll let my fellow contributor to the site, Jeff Martel explain this one..
“In all of my years involved with racing, the best or should i say greatest finish that i have read about seen video’s about and the photo’s that always come up when its looked up on the web. The great battle between Richie Evans and Geoff Bodine at Martinsville, the one thing always seems to stick out to me was the fact that every person interviewed said Richie never took his foot of the gas until he crossed the finish line. This will go down as the best finish in racing history for me hands down.”

1. Ricky Craven/Kurt Busch, Darlington 2003
This one has to top every list, and it’s even better to see the Maine native beat out the drama queen of Nascar.
